“Ever since I was a little girl I have seen the paintings of Beltran Masses in my family’s home -remembers Salom- seeing his works, my aesthetic sense started to develop as well as my knowledge of how to look, enjoy and recognise the beauty in a painting. For all of that I am extremely grateful to him”, explains the art critic.
With a degree in Art History from the UAB and with a Management Development Program diploma (PDD) from the IESE Business School, Salom is a member of the International Association of Art Critics (AICA) and the Asociació Catalana de Critics d’Art (ACCA).
She has worked in the Maeght Gallery in Barcelona and in the Manuel Barbié Gallery in Madrid. Then lived in New York where she widened her formation and knowledge about painting organisation and management of art galleries. She has organised and curated exhibitions for several public and private entities, one of them (Tribute to Alexandre de Riquer) receiving the ACCA prize to the best exhibition of the year 1987.
She has developed the greater part of her professional life in the television world (TV3-Televisió de Catalunya and in the Catalan Corporation of Audiovisual Media), where she produced documentaries, debates, magazines and news programmes.
As a researcher in Art world, she has centered her work in the study of Federico Beltran Masses and his time, publishing studies in catalogues and specialised magazines. In her effort to know and spread Beltran Masses work, she started the Inventory and the Catalogue Raisonée of his work whith the hope that will be used as a solid base in the knowledge on the life and work of the Spanish painter. She is currently working on his biography.
